(The XBOX 360 version was plagued with them)Įdit: I'd suggest running the game intself (not the launcher) in Vista (sp 3) compatibility mode, otherwise you'll find you can't drop items using a controller. I was expecting to try and debug loads of problems to get it work (according to all the posts on the subject) and well was suprised that it wasn't just running without any hitches but currently no bugs or crashes. Then when my Fallout 3 download completed, I started that up, it went through some install bits.

Once that was done I did an update, logged into my live account once to make sure it was working. it involved me going to a url at () and downloading the installer, running the installer in compatibility (and as administrator) prior to installing Fallout 3. Windows 8.1 here works fine, however I did follow some instructions prior about installing Games for Windows Live.
